IGLESIA CRISTO VIVE
CHURCH HISTORY SUMMARY:
1986 – The church began as part of the ‘Braeswood’ Assemblies of God ministry located in 10611 Fondren Rd where Pastor Earl Banning gathered a small group of 30 people. After receiving the blessing from Pastor Banning, this small group set out to grow and mature spiritually.
July 1986 – Back then, with Pastor Jaime Calderón leading, Grace Church (now known as “Good News Church”) located in 840 Boone, rented to us a small room which is considered the first temple.
August 1986 – The name “Iglesia Cristo Vive” is officially registered in the state of Texas.
Eventually, Pastor Calderón moved to Florida leaving Sister Anita Girón in charge. She did not feel capable to lead and asked for a pastor to lead instead. After, Brother Veita was in charge. Due to having his own church in Pasadena, Brother Veita was unable to lead full time, wanting to give his full attention to the church he was called to be at. The church needed a stable, long-term pastor, which left Pastor Víctor Gutiérrez at the head of the church. The church started growing and needed a bigger temple. In the early 1990s, the church moved to a commercial lot located in 6237 Corporate Dr. In time, the church was able to obtain their own small lot at 14311 Auto Park Way. As the harvest grew, they had the opportunity to obtain a sizable property at 14035 Beechnut St.
2003 – During the construction process of the church, Pastor Donald Jonker opened the doors to his church, Grace Church (Assemblies of God), for ICV to continue holding services.
2009 – Pastor Victor Gutiérrez ends his time as pastor and the church votes on Pastor Walter Neri Salguero to lead.
2013 – After much time, the church finally opens the doors to the new campus with a strong spiritual vision for the church, community, and the world.
2025 – God has thus been faithful. God continues to prosper ICV and continues to grow and move forward because this is the work of God and will continue until His return. “He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
